Massachusetts
Marriage License Laws

 | ID Requirement: Proper
identification is necessary. You may be required to show a certified birth
certificate. |

do not have to be a resident of Massachusetts. License can be used anywhere in
Massachusetts. |

(3) waiting period. You may go to court and obtain a court order to waive the
three-day waiting period. If either of you are close to death, or if the bride
is near the end of her pregnancy, a request by your attending physician or
clergyperson would suffice and the clerk can issue the license immediately
without a court order. |

to bring the report of your Pre-Marital Blood Test. It has to be done no longer
than 30 days prior to your marriage license application. If either of you are

the Governor, for a $25 fee, special one-time permission to perform a marriage. |

the test. You should plan on making a medical appointment for the tests
approximately one month before your wedding. The test is valid for only 35 days.
You will have to return to the doctor for the results and to receive the signed
Premarital Certificate. The certificate has to be signed by a doctor and the
applicants in the presence of the doctor. |

Federal District (Mexico City)
 | ID Requirement: Here is what you need to
bring with you, and what you need to know about the New Mexico marriage laws
before filling out the New Mexico marriage license form. By law, the County Clerk's Office is the only agency permitted to issue marriage licenses. All
marriage license application are permanently filed, as are marriage
records.
Both applicants need to be present.
Both need current legal pictured ID, or birth certificate.
Both need proof of Social Security number.
